Basileus Capital Limited Compliance Management
The inspiration for the Basileus Group's name has been derived from the Emperor Penguin (Aptenodytes forsteri), a large Penguin species found in Antarctica. The Emperor Penguin is the only penguin species that breeds during the Antarctic winter. With temperatures reaching -40 degrees Centigrade (-40 degrees Fahrenheit) and wind speeds reaching 108 knots (200 kilometers per hour) the male species incubate and protect the egg while the female penguins leave to feed. During this time the Emperor Penguin fast for up to 115 days while waiting their turn to leave the colony and feed. This demonstrates tremendous commitment, determination and responsibility.

We believe that perhaps the most key factors in successfully developing companies and projects is this commitment, determination and sense of responsibility.

Basileus is derived from the Greek word for "sovereign" which originally referred to any king in the Greek-speaking areas of the Roman Empire. It also referred to the emperors of Persia. Heraclius adopted it to replace the old Latin title of Augustus (Augoustos) in 629, and it became the Greek word for "emperor."
